91¸£Àû offers a variety of species for antibody development. Choosing which species to use could have an impact on if the antibody is successful. Our scientists work with you to ensure all of the right questions and decisions are made for the best chance of success.
In addition to the species listed below we also offer standard protocols for mice, rats, hamsters and guinea pigs upon request.
You may send in your antigen, peptide or protein, to us and we take it from there. The protocol that you have chosen will begin within 5 business days of receipt of the antigen and project submission form. You may choose the 91¸£Àû Standard Protocols, which have an extensive history of success, or utilize your own protocol, whichever meets your needs.
Rabbit – 70 Day Standard 2 Rabbit Protocol
All rabbits are Specific Pathogen Free (SPF). Healthy animals make great antibodies.
Mean serum yields 50-75 mL of antiserum per rabbit.
Mean IgG concentration in immune rabbit sera is 4 mg/mL.
Mean specific antibody concentration is 0.15 to 0.5 mg/mL.
Antigen requirement: 1.6 – 2.0 mgs per 2-rabbit protocol
